Limoges Cellars

Family-run North Georgia farm winery pairing estate Albariño and Bordeaux varieties with traditional-method sparkling wines

Best known for: Estate Albariño, Bordeaux-style blends and traditional-method sparkling wines

Daniel and Kristina Limoges run Limoges Cellars on 37 acres of rolling hills in Cleveland, Georgia, beside the Dahlonega Plateau American Viticultural Area. Daniel handles winemaking and vineyard work; Kristina brings a culinary background to the tasting room and events. Their hands-on operation favors grapes that suit North Georgia rather than trying to turn the region into Napa. Across 4.5 acres of vineyard plantings, Albariño and Grüner Veltliner grow alongside Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and other varieties.

The wines favor fresh acidity and restrained alcohol. Femme Salée gives Albariño a citrus-driven expression, while Three Graces combines estate-grown Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot in a Bordeaux-style blend. The sparkling wines deserve attention, particularly Blanc de Pommes, an apple wine with bubbles produced through a second fermentation in the bottle. Emilia takes a less expected direction: a dry, deeply colored sparkling red inspired by Italy’s Lambrusco.

The tasting room welcomes walk-ins and families, with leashed dogs allowed outdoors. Visitors can bring food or assemble a charcuterie board from the small market. For a closer look, Daniel leads a 90-minute vineyard hike with five wines on Saturdays for $100. The route continues through a hidden doorway into the winery—a better reason to linger than another round at the bar.
