Creekstone Winery

Creekstone Winery in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, pairs a mountaintop setting with views of Yonah Mountain, less than two miles from Helen. Part of the Habersham Winery family, Creekstone gives the family's premium Creekstone label a home of its own, just three minutes from Habersham Winery. A French-style mansion surrounded by estate vineyards sets the scene. The draw here is as much the setting as the tasting: this is a place for a glass with a mountain view, with Hardman Farm, the Sautee Nacoochee Indian Mound, and historic Nacoochee Village nearby.

A five-wine tasting costs $20 plus tax, and individual visitors can drop in without reservations. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to reserve, with two weeks' advance notice required for bookings. The kitchen serves hot food Thursday through Sunday, including flatbread pizzas, giant pretzels, and dips; premade items are available the rest of the week. Friday and Saturday evenings bring the Creekstone After Hours Music Series from 6 to 9 p.m. Children are welcome, and leashed dogs can join outside; only service animals enter the tasting room.
