Spruce Hill Winery - Seattle Tasting Room

Working winery in Seattle’s SODO district pairing small-lot Washington wines with build-your-own tasting flights

Best known for: Small-lot Washington wines spanning Albariño, Cinsault, and Tannat

Spruce Hill Winery’s Seattle tasting room puts visitors inside a working winery in Washington’s SODO district, not a separate storefront. Founders Mark and Jo Bader make their small-lot wines here, and the industrial setting keeps production central to the experience. This is the original Spruce Hill location, with roots dating to 2023—a good fit for travelers more interested in where wine gets made than in vineyard views.

Mark brings a background in Seattle’s tech industry and music scene to his role as winemaker; Jo handles operations and works alongside him as assistant winemaker. Their Washington-grown wines reach beyond the usual Cabernet-and-Chardonnay circuit, with Albariño, Cinsault rosé, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Tannat among the options. The 2022 Carmenère carries a Best of Class award from the 2025 Savor Northwest Wine Competition. Seattle tasting flights are fully customizable across current releases, leaving room for both familiar favorites and less familiar grapes.

Saturday afternoons are the regular visiting window, from 2–6 p.m., with other visits available by appointment. The tasting room sits at 2960 4th Avenue South, Suite 109, two blocks from light rail, with free parking out front. Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio but cannot pass through the building.
