Spruce Hill Winery’s Gig Harbor tasting room for small-lot Washington wines and less-familiar grapes

Best known for: Small-lot Washington wines spanning Albariño, Cinsault, and Tannat

Spruce Hill Winery’s Gig Harbor tasting room brings small-lot Washington wines to Uptown Gig Harbor, Washington, next to Harbor Greens on Olympic Drive. The 2026 addition to Mark and Jo Bader’s winery is a place for seated flights, cheese and charcuterie, and a glass with friends—not a production-floor visit. Winemaking takes place at the winery’s original Seattle SODO location.

Mark handles winemaking, while Jo combines assistant winemaking with operations. Their range gives curious drinkers a reason to look beyond Cabernet Sauvignon: sparkling Albariño, Cinsault, and Tannat share attention with more familiar grapes. The 2022 Carmenère holds a Best of Class award from the 2025 Savor Northwest Wine Competition. The appeal here is the chance to explore Washington wine beyond its usual headliners without committing to four unfamiliar bottles.

Four-pour tastings offer themed flights or a build-your-own selection, and the tasting fee is waived with a two-bottle purchase. Warm bread and savory snacks supplement the cheese and charcuterie; local beer and non-alcoholic drinks give non-wine drinkers options. Thursday-through-Sunday afternoon and evening hours suit a late-day stop. Walk-ins are welcome, while reservations cover 90-minute visits for parties of two to six. Free two-hour parking sits directly out front. Children may accompany adults, but only service animals are permitted.
