Skyenna Wines

Family-owned Rhône specialist pouring Santa Barbara County wines in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone

Best known for: Small-production Rhône varieties from Santa Barbara County vineyards

Skyenna Wines brings a Rhône-focused selection of Santa Barbara County wines to a tasting room in Santa Barbara, California’s Funk Zone. Lenny and Susanne Germano’s family-owned winery dates to 2014, and its name combines those of their daughters, Skyla and Sienna. Production stays small, with grapes sourced from vineyards across the county rather than a single estate.

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault give the reds their center of gravity. The 2022 Grenache comes from Tierra Alta Vineyard in the Ballard Canyon American Viticultural Area, while the 2021 Cinsault draws on Camp 4 Vineyard in Santa Ynez. The range extends beyond Rhône grapes to Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and dry Pinot Noir rosé. For something different, the 2021 Una Sparkling Brut combines 80% Pinot Noir with 20% Chardonnay. Limited production means individual wines are not always available.

The tasting room at 12 Helena Avenue puts Skyenna among the Funk Zone’s galleries, restaurants, and boutiques—not out among vineyard rows. Staff-guided tasting flights make it a convenient stop within a neighborhood outing, and the space also hosts private gatherings. For repeat visitors, the wine club offers two complimentary tastings per visit and a 15% bottle discount.
