Reddy Vineyards - Stonewall Tasting Room

Texas High Plains estate wines poured in a Stonewall lounge with a backyard on US-290

Best known for: Estate-grown Texas High Plains reds, whites and rosés

Reddy Vineyards’ Stonewall tasting room brings estate-grown wines from the Texas High Plains American Viticultural Area (AVA) to the Texas Hill Country. At 14746 US-290 in Stonewall, Texas, the Reddy Wines room offers a lounge and backyard rather than a working-vineyard visit. The distinction matters: the vines and production winery are in Brownfield, roughly six hours away. This is the stop for travelers exploring the Fredericksburg-area wine trail.

The family’s vineyard roots date to 1997. Founder Dr. Vijay Reddy brings a PhD in soil and plant science to an estate at 3,305 feet, where hot days and cold nights help grapes ripen while retaining acidity. Plantings span 34 varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Albariño and Picpoul Blanc. His son, Dr. Akhil Reddy, heads the winery and brands. Reddy controls the process from growing the fruit through making and bottling the wine.

In Stonewall, the New Trails experience is a 45-minute guided tasting for $25 per person. Thursday-through-Sunday seatings run hourly from noon to 5 p.m.; reservations are recommended, and walk-ins are welcome. Groups of nine or more require advance reservations. The lounge-and-backyard setting makes this a tasting-room stop, not a cellar tour—and keeps High Plains wine within reach of a Hill Country weekend.
