Kindred Vineyards

Family winery in Idaho’s Sunnyslope pairing small-lot estate reds with wood-fired cooking from Nono’s Kitchen

Best known for: Small-lot estate reds and exclusively French oak barrels

Kindred Vineyards’ Winery Sunnyslope location in Caldwell, Idaho, pairs small-lot estate reds with wood-fired food at 14253 Frost Road. This is the vineyard setting rather than Kindred’s downtown Caldwell wine lounge, making it the choice for visitors who want vines alongside the table. Founded in 2015, the family winery puts shared meals and gathering at the center of the experience.

Winemakers Craig and Jack focus on grape selection, picking dates, and patient aging. Their clearest cellar rule is unusually specific: every barrel is French oak. That gives the winemaking a defined approach without requiring visitors to arrive with a vocabulary for barrel toast. Estate reds anchor the wine offering, while the broader range also includes whites and rosé.

Nono’s Kitchen brings wood-fired, family-recipe cooking to the Sunnyslope location, giving a tasting a reason to stretch into a meal. The winery opens Friday through Sunday, with Friday service extending into the evening. Reservations are available for tastings and tables, and the event calendar adds occasional parties to the wine-and-food routine.
