Two K Farms

Leelanau Peninsula farm winery and cidery with heritage apples, estate fruit, and bay views

Best known for: Estate-grown heritage apple ciders and Riesling

Two K Farms sits on 80 acres south of Suttons Bay on the Leelanau Peninsula, with the tasting room perched above West Grand Traverse Bay. It opens in 2018 after years of replanting a long-worked farm into a serious fruit operation: more than 35 varieties of heritage cider apples and select vineyard blocks planted on the best sites. George and Max Koskela, the K & K brothers, run the place, and the identity here is clear from the start — estate fruit, farm-scale production, and a real commitment to cider as more than a side project.

The strongest reason to stop is that Two K Farms does both wine and cider with unusual depth. The wine list reaches across Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, rosé, and sparkling bottlings, including the 2022 Bubbly Riesling, which earned 97 points and won Best of the Best, Best Sparkling Wine, and Best of Leelanau Peninsula AVA at the 2024 Harvest Challenge. The cider side goes deeper still, from dry Old World and Farmhouse styles to single-variety Kingston Black, Harrison, Esopus Spitzenburg, and dessert bottlings like Golden Russet Ice Cider and Pommeau. Visiting feels more like settling into a hilltop farm than checking a box on the wine trail: seated tastings, flights that make it easy to compare wine and cider side by side, a dog-friendly patio, an all-season fire pit, and live music in season. For travelers who want a Leelanau stop with a point of view, this one is worth the drive.
