The Triple D Winery & Event Center
Downtown Brownfield winery rooted in the Wilmeth family’s 60 acres of Terry County grapes
Best known for: Wines grown entirely in family-owned Terry County vineyards
The Triple D Winery & Event Center in Brownfield, Texas, connects a downtown tasting room with Ty and Mary Wilmeth’s 60 acres of Terry County wine grapes. Established in 2015, the winery draws all its fruit from the family’s Diamante Doble and Diamante Doble Dos vineyards. The Wilmeth family’s farming roots in nearby Tokio reach back to 1924, with grapes joining a farming tradition that encompasses cotton, peanuts, watermelons, and other crops.
The wines span reds, whites, and rosés, with sweet and dry options rather than a single stylistic focus. The more distinctive thread is their shared local origin: this is a place to explore Terry County fruit across different styles. Private tastings and wine-and-food pairings offer ways to get acquainted with the wines.
The downtown winery occupies a historic building with a previous life as an antique and water store, retaining vintage pieces within the renovated space. Thursday and Friday evening hours, from 5 to 8 p.m., suit an end-of-day stop; Saturday visits require an appointment. Personalized vineyard tours are arranged separately by calling Ty and Mary. Weddings, birthdays, and corporate gatherings are also part of the operation, with events available at both the vineyard and downtown venue.
