Five Trees Winery

East Texas winery outside Kilgore with a tasting room known as the Barrel

Five Trees Winery sits just outside Kilgore, Texas, with a vineyard planting program that brings together Concord, Golden Muscat, Opportunity, Enchantment, Niagara, and St. Vincent. That six-grape selection gives this East Texas winery a different starting point from the familiar Cabernet-and-Chardonnay formula. The vineyard focus is on varieties chosen for the region’s growing conditions, with both familiar and less commonly encountered grapes sharing the plan. The tasting room, known as the Barrel, serves wine by the glass and bottle, giving visitors a place to explore Five Trees without committing to a full bottle.

The Barrel opens Thursday and Friday evenings from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 8 p.m., making this a late-week stop rather than an everyday tasting destination. The address is 1055 Watson Road, outside Kilgore’s city limits. Visitors under 21 are welcome with family and friends, though wine purchases and drinking are limited to adults 21 and older. Five Trees also takes inquiries for office parties and other group gatherings and offers its Vine Wine Club.
