Eagles' Landing

Missouri-grown wines with European influences on a century-old family vineyard property in Rosati

Best known for: Missouri-grown wines made with minimal intervention

Eagles’ Landing in Rosati, Missouri, pairs Missouri-grown grapes with Italian, German, and French winemaking methods. Mary and Eric Taylor lead the winery on Eric’s family estate near St. James, within the Ozark Highlands American Viticultural Area (AVA). Eric, the winemaker and an Advanced Sommelier, favors minimal intervention and works with small, family-operated vineyards across the Ozarks. Traminette and Chambourcin are among the wines that put the regional grape focus into the glass.

The family connection gives this winery its identity. The Cardetti family’s care of the vineyard and property stretches back to the turn of the twentieth century, with Concord, Niagara, and Stark’s Star among its original grapes. The estate is also Eric’s maternal grandfather’s old country home—not simply a tasting-room address, but a property with more than a century of family grape-growing history.

Guided tastings connect the wines with that history, while the tasting room kitchen serves a small menu featuring local meats and cheeses alongside tasting flights. Walk-ins are welcome Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday through Thursday visits are by appointment or for events. Eagles’ Landing is also a stop on the Meramec River Wine Trail.
