Camins 2 Dreams
Wife-and-wife winemaking team's Lompoc Wine Ghetto tasting room, focused on native-yeast wines from responsibly farmed vineyards
Best known for: Native-yeast, minimal-intervention wines with a Sta. Rita Hills focus
Camins 2 Dreams brings the wines of Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribó to Lompoc’s Wine Ghetto in California, with a five-wine tasting that costs $20. The wife-and-wife team’s family-owned winery dates to 2017. Gomez is a member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians; Taribó comes from Catalunya in northeastern Spain. Their shared project draws on winemaking experience in both California and Spain, with vineyard character taking priority over heavy intervention in the cellar.
The wines ferment with native yeast and receive low levels of sulfur dioxide, a preservative used in winemaking. Fruit comes exclusively from organic, biodynamic, and regenerative vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Benito counties, with a particular focus on the Sta. Rita Hills American Viticultural Area. The emphasis is on how the grapes grow and how little the winemakers need to alter them—not on a single signature variety.
The tasting room at 1520 East Chestnut Court, Units C and D, opens Friday through Sunday, with other days available by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are recommended. Each tasting fee is waived with a three-bottle purchase. Guests can also stop for a glass, buy snacks, or bring outside food; well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Standard tastings accommodate up to six guests, while larger groups require advance arrangements.
