Camins 2 Dreams - Winery

Wife-and-wife winemaking in Lompoc, with native-yeast fermentations and a focus on responsibly farmed Santa Barbara County vineyards

Best known for: Native-yeast, minimal-intervention wines with a Sta. Rita Hills focus

Camins 2 Dreams in Lompoc, California, is the family-owned winery of Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribó, a wife-and-wife winemaking team whose label dates to 2017. Gomez is a member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians; Taribó comes from Catalunya, Spain. Their backgrounds connect California’s Central Coast with Spain’s Pyrenees, and Gomez holds VinePair’s 2021 Winemaker of the Year honor.

The wines center on vineyard character rather than heavy cellar intervention. Fermentation relies on naturally occurring yeast, with low levels of sulfur dioxide used in winemaking. Fruit comes from organic, biodynamic, and regeneratively farmed vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Benito counties, with a particular focus on the Sta. Rita Hills American Viticultural Area. Respect for vineyard workers matters alongside farming practices in their choice of growers.

The production winery is at 313 North F Street; visitor tastings take place separately in Lompoc’s Wine Ghetto at 1520 East Chestnut Court, Units C and D. The tasting room opens Friday through Sunday, with five wines for $20 and each fee waived with a three-bottle purchase. Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are accepted. Outside food and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome; groups larger than six require advance arrangements.
