The Review
Glenora Wine Cellars is the winery attached to Glenora Inn, located on the west shore of Seneca Lake. Glenora is a warm and comfortable spot that offers pleasant views and has an upscale seasonally-focused restaurant called Veraisons.
The Place:  Glenora Wine Cellars occupies a beautiful spot overlooking Seneca Lake. Taste the winerys offerings in a setting decorated with cherry trim, cathedral ceilings, stone accents and fireplace, and expansive windows with views of the vineyards and lake just outside. Glenora offers warm hospitality, friendly service, and a lovely setting to taste the winerys offerings.
The Experience:  Glenora Wine Cellars offers a relaxing setting in which to taste and an opportunity to learn about the production methods and history of the region. Veraisons Restaurant offers some of the regions best food with a focus on local ingredients that makes Glenora a wonderful choice for lunch or dinner.
The Wines:  Glenora Wine Cellars produces wines from the typical varieties of the region including Riesling, Chardonnay, some decent Methode Champenois sparkling wines, and a standout Pinot Blanc. Other noteworthy wines include a lovely Pinot Noir Rose, Seyval Blanc, and a handful of barrel-aged reds that include a spicy Syrah and floral Cabernet Franc.
Extras:  Glenora Wine Cellars offers a Reserve Tasting that includes a 45-minute tasting in a private room with a personal wine instructor. Learn about the production of their limited release wines, the history of the winery, and the unique wine flavors found only in the Finger Lakes. Those who participate in the reserve tasting may sample many of the vintages that consist of 100 cases or less. ?Reserve Wine Tastings are held every day at 11:00am, 12:00noon, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm. Walk-ins are accepted, but reservations are recommended. Cost is $10 per person.
Insiders Tip:  Though the Fall and Summer are the busiest seasons of the Finger Lakes, Glenora offers a nice place to stay during the winter, too. It overlooks Seneca Lake and the winerys vineyards and has lovely views year-round.
