Whitman Hill Winery - Woodinville Tasting Room
Whitman Hill Winery’s estate-grown Bordeaux varieties in Woodinville, Washington’s Warehouse District
Best known for: Estate-grown Bordeaux varieties fermented separately by vineyard block
Whitman Hill Winery’s Woodinville tasting room brings estate-grown Yakima Valley wines to Artisan Hill in Woodinville, Washington’s Warehouse District. The draw is a seated introduction to a family-owned Zillah estate without the drive across the Cascades. Scott and Denise Whitman center the winery on Bordeaux grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Vineyard blocks are picked and fermented separately, keeping their individual characteristics distinct before final wine decisions. Vineyard manager Joel Santos brings more than 30 years of experience to the farming behind those bottles.
The Woodinville location is a small, French-bistro-style tasting room in a business park—not a vineyard-view destination. Indoor tastings typically run 60–90 minutes, and the $15 Signature Tasting introduces current releases with a staff member guiding the conversation. Each tasting fee is waived with a $45 purchase or Wine Collective signup. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are recommended; groups larger than eight require a call ahead. Friday-through-Sunday service makes this a weekend stop, with paved parking and several neighboring wineries within walking distance. There is no outdoor seating or picnic area, so the appeal is the wine and an unhurried indoor tasting rather than an afternoon on the lawn.
