Triple N Ranch Winery and Vineyard
Women-owned Triple N Ranch Winery and Vineyard on a 140-acre working longhorn ranch in Trinidad, Texas
Best known for: Texas High Plains wines featuring Mediterranean grape varieties
Triple N Ranch Winery and Vineyard in Trinidad, Texas, pairs Texas-grown wines with a 140-acre working longhorn ranch near Cedar Creek Lake, just over an hour southeast of Dallas. Owner Nan Michelle Anderson runs the winery, whose name honors three generations of women: her mother Nan Creel, Anderson herself, and her daughter Nan Christina. Established in 2020, the winery occupies a refurbished two-story barn, with patios overlooking the cattle and a small vineyard. The ranch setting is the reason to linger rather than rush through a tasting.
Winemaker Michael McClendon works with Texas High Plains grapes for wines ranging from Picpoul and Roussanne to Tannat, Malbec, Sangiovese, and Tempranillo. Montepulciano rosé, sweet wines, and a port-style wine broaden the choices. A standard tasting costs $15 for five one-ounce pours, with selections rotating across roughly 20 wines.
Wood-fired pizzas from Nan Poli’s Pizzeria make this a lunch stop as well as a tasting stop; charcuterie, panini, and salads offer alternatives. Thursday-through-Sunday service includes afternoon live music on weekends. Reservations are required for tastings and events. Children are welcome with adult supervision, but pets are not permitted on the working ranch. The tasting room and outdoor patios are accessible.
