Loma Prieta Winery, located in the picturesque Santa Cruz Mountains, is celebrated as the largest producer of Pinotage in North America.
Founded by Amy and Paul Kemp, the winery initially focused on Pinot Noir but shifted to Pinotage after discovering the grape in Lodi. This led to the conversion of their estate vineyard, making it unique in the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.
Known for its medium-bodied, fruit-forward profile, Pinotage has become a cult favorite and best-seller since 2009. The winery also made history by producing the first sparkling Pinotage in North America in 2013.
