Grape Vine Springs Winery

Grapevine, Texas’s oldest Main Street winery, pairing California-sourced grapes with a dive-bar tasting room vibe

Best known for: California-sourced dry varietals and sweet fruit-flavored wines

Grape Vine Springs Winery in Grapevine, Texas, is Main Street’s oldest winery, dating to 2004, and its tasting room favors dive-bar informality over ceremony. At 409 S. Main Street, reservations aren’t required for a regular visit. The appeal is a low-pressure wine stop with enough dry, sweet, and sparkling choices to accommodate friends whose tastes rarely agree.

The winery sources grapes from California regions including Napa Valley, Sonoma, and Lodi, with fermentation managed across 40 stainless steel tanks. Wines range from Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese to Thirsty Frog, a 100% Tempranillo, and Main Street Red, an equal-parts Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blend. Sweet options get equal billing: Stockyard Peach combines peach with Chardonnay, while Wild West Berry pairs blackberry with Merlot. Most still wines cost $9.50–$11.50 a glass.

The activities give this address a reason for a longer stop. A $65 blending class includes a tasting, custom blending, a glass of the finished blend, and cheese; the take-home wine requires pickup two to three weeks later. Friday and Saturday ghost walks leave from the winery at 7 p.m. for 90 minutes around downtown, with a glass of wine for guests 21 and older. Tours pause in December. The tasting room stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
