Bayer Family Estate
Rogue Valley wine estate in Eagle Point, Oregon, with an equestrian arena repurposed for concerts
Best known for: Wines from estate and Southern Oregon vineyard fruit
Bayer Family Estate in Eagle Point, Oregon, pairs Southern Oregon wines with a setting that keeps its horse-country roots in view. The 80-acre Rogue Valley property combines grapevines, hay fields and ponds edged with willows and water lilies—not 80 acres of uninterrupted vineyard. Wines draw on estate-grown grapes and fruit from other Southern Oregon vineyards, with red, white and sparkling wines available. The distinction here is as much the place as the bottle: a Tuscan-inspired tasting room stands beside a former commercial equestrian facility, and the covered arena now provides seating, a concert venue and a dance floor.
The grounds suit a less buttoned-up tasting stop, with cornhole boards, room for children to move around and leashed dogs welcome. Pines and the nearby Rogue River round out the setting. Walk-ins are welcome during tasting-room openings, while groups larger than six are encouraged to reserve. Tasting dates vary seasonally, making advance confirmation important before a drive to the estate. The covered arena gives live music shelter from the weather, though concerts depend on the event schedule.
Tasting Hours
