Wines of Washington
Nine winemaker-owned Washington producers sharing a tasting room and wine bar in Seattle’s Pike Place Market
Best known for: Multi-producer Washington wines with organic and sustainable options
Wines of Washington brings nine winemaker-owned Washington State producers together at 1924 Post Alley in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. This is a shared tasting room and wine bar rather than a single production winery, with more than 100 wines and spirits spanning the state. Its strongest draw is the chance to compare producers and growing regions without spending the weekend driving between them.
The range stretches from Brian Carter Cellars’ European-style blends to Quilceda Creek’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Treveri Cellars’ traditional-method sparkling wines, which develop their bubbles through a second fermentation in the bottle. Ambassador Wines of Washington contributes estate-grown wines from Washington’s Red Mountain American Viticultural Area. Organic and sustainable production is a focus, though certifications differ by producer: Wilridge Vineyard, Winery & Distillery holds both organic and biodynamic certifications rather than those labels applying to every bottle in the room.
Guests choose a tasting flight or build their own, with staff helping sort through producers and styles. Glasses, bottles, Washington spirits cocktails, small plates, and sweet and savory pies give the room a role beyond a quick tasting stop. Friday and Saturday service runs until 10 p.m.; live jazz falls on the last Thursday of the month. The room closes Mondays, and parties of six or more arrange visits in advance.
