Waxwing Wines

Intimate winery with traditional methods and coastal vineyard influence

Best known for: Limited-production Pinot Noir and Syrah from cool-climate vineyards

Waxwing Wine Cellars, founded by winemaker Scott Sisemore, specialized in producing compelling wines from cool-climate vineyards along the California coast.

The winery focused on crafting limited-production Pinot Noir, Syrah, Riesling, and Chardonnay, utilizing traditional methods and sourcing grapes from windy vineyards.

Unfortunately, Waxwing Wine Cellars closed its doors in July 2022, marking the end of an era for its dedicated clientele.

The winery had garnered acclaim for its 2018 and 2019 vintages, receiving high ratings from wine critics, including 94 points for the 2018 Lester Family Pinot Noir and 95 points for the 2019 Deerheart Vineyard Pinot Noir.
