Tasting deVine
Downtown Wheaton tasting room pouring Lynfred wines, local beer, and Whiskey Acres bourbon since 1999
Best known for: Lynfred wines with fruit, sparkling, and reserve options
Tasting deVine is a downtown Wheaton tasting room with real staying power. Open since 1999, it began as Lynfred Winery's first tasting room away from the main winery and still works best for travelers who want a flexible stop rather than a formal winery outing. Wine is the anchor here, but not the only reason to come: the menu also reaches into local craft beer and Whiskey Acres bourbon, which makes it an easy pick for mixed groups where not everyone wants the same pour.
The wine side leans into Lynfred's broad range, with monthly tastings that can move from Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay to Barbera, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, plus fruit wines and sparkling options. One useful clue to the house style is the 2022 Barbera, made from 100% Barbera grapes from Clarksburg, California. Visitors can settle in inside or grab sidewalk seating during the warmer months, and the place keeps a steady neighborhood rhythm with trivia nights, live music, varietal classes, and craft nights like Sip & Stitch. Cheese plates help turn a tasting into an actual hang, and the wine club is unusually built out, with options for red, white, fruit, sparkling, and reserve-level bottles.
