Slate Run Vineyard
Historic farm setting with handcrafted Ohio wines
Best known for: Artisan wines made from Ohio fruit
Slate Run Vineyard, located in central Ohio southeast of Columbus, is a small farm winery that opened in 1997.
Founded by Keith and Leslie Pritchard, the winery is named after a nearby creek and is known for its commitment to producing artisan wines using 100% Ohio fruit.
Keith Pritchard, an avid amateur winemaker since 1981, began planting grapes in 1985 to support his winemaking pursuits. Over time, he transitioned from selling grapes to amateur winemakers to establishing his own winery, allowing him to utilize his skills and education in winemaking.
The vineyard features a unique mixture of soils and microclimate, contributing to the complexity and balance of its wines.
Visitors are welcome to taste any of the 17 proprietary wines and can purchase bottles to take home, with shipping available only within Ohio.
The vineyard also offers a venue for events, making it a versatile destination for wine enthusiasts.
