Shone Farm, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley AVA, serves as a 365-acre outdoor learning laboratory for the Santa Rosa Junior College’s Agriculture/Natural Resources Department.
It provides students with invaluable hands-on experience that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom setting.
The farm is situated approximately 12 miles from the Santa Rosa Campus, nestled between the towns of Forestville and Windsor.
Named in honor of Robert Shone, a prominent figure in Sonoma County agriculture and a former trustee of Santa Rosa Junior College, Shone Farm has been recognized as the #1 college farm in the nation, highlighting its commitment to agricultural education and community involvement.
