Shibumi Knoll Vineyards
Breathtaking vineyard setting with sustainable practices
Best known for: Exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
Shibumi Knoll Vineyards, nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, is celebrated for its commitment to producing wines that reflect the purest expression of their terroir.
Founded by Don Ross, who transitioned from a successful career in aerospace engineering to winemaking, the winery embodies a philosophy of effortless perfection. The team includes renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, whose meticulous attention to detail has garnered acclaim across the wine industry.
With a focus on sustainable practices and a deep respect for the land, Shibumi Knoll offers a unique tasting experience that highlights the beauty and richness of Napa Valley's vineyards.
The vineyard's unique location on the alluvial fan of Mill Creek, composed of 80% rock, allows it to produce wines that embody the grace of Napa Valley Cabernet while also showcasing the structure typical of stony hillside vineyards.
The winery's first vintage of Shibumi Cabernet was released in 2003, and it has since gained acclaim, including being a favorite at The French Laundry.
The vineyard also produces a highly regarded Chardonnay sourced from Buena Tierra Vineyards, which has received top scores from The Wine Spectator.
In 2012, the winery introduced a Pinot Noir from a small block of Swan clone grapes, further diversifying its acclaimed wine offerings.
