Shenandoah Vineyards (CA)
Sustainable, non-irrigated vineyards with a family legacy
Best known for: Estate-grown wines from non-irrigated vineyards
Founded in 1977 by Leon and Shirley Sobon, Shenandoah Vineyards is one of the early wineries in Amador County's Shenandoah Valley appellation.
Starting with an initial offering of 1,200 cases, the winery has grown to produce approximately 20,000 cases each year. This growth is driven by a commitment to quality and sustainable practices.
The winery uses estate-grown grapes from its sustainably-farmed vineyards, which benefit from the region's unique micro-climates and soils. With a focus on non-irrigated vineyards, Shenandoah Vineyards produces smaller crops that yield exceptional grapes.
They employ state-of-the-art winemaking techniques, backed by over 60 years of combined expertise, to craft wines that reflect the family's dedication to the environment and quality.
