Prairie State Winery - Sycamore
Historic tasting room with live music and regional charm
Best known for: Unique wines crafted from local ingredients
Prairie State Winery was established in 1998 by former high school teachers Rick and Maria Mamoser. Initially one of only 16 wineries in Illinois, it has grown alongside the industry, which now boasts over 100 wineries.
The winery is dedicated to crafting high-quality wines and providing a friendly tasting room experience. Over the years, they have received multiple accolades, including 3 Best of Shows and 4 Governor's Cups.
With a diverse selection of over 35 wines, many of which are unique to the region, Prairie State Winery combines Illinois-grown grapes with California varietals to create exceptional flavors.
The winery also features a kitchen that opened in 2016, offering delicious food to complement their wines. Visitors can enjoy live music events in the wine garden during warmer months and inside the dining hall during cooler months, making it a vibrant destination for wine lovers.
