Prairie State Winery

Vibrant wine garden with live music and local charm

Best known for: Unique wines crafted from local ingredients

Prairie State Winery was established in 1998 by former high school teachers Rick and Maria Mamoser. Initially, it was one of only 16 wineries in Illinois, but it has grown along with the industry, which now has over 100 wineries.

The winery is dedicated to making high-quality wines and providing good service in its tasting room. Besides winemaking, Prairie State Winery has expanded into distilling, producing Barrel Proof Brandy, Apple Brandy, and Gin.

Prairie State Winery has received several awards, including 3 Best of Shows and 3 Governor's Cups, which show their commitment to quality. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings, with 7 samples for $8. If you buy 4 bottles, the tasting is free.

The kitchen is open Wednesday through Sunday, offering a menu that goes well with the wines. The winery also has a wine garden and hosts live music events during warmer months, making it a lively spot for guests.
