Pillar Bluff

Vineyard walks and seasonal events in scenic surroundings

Best known for: Exceptional Texas Hill Country wines

Pillar Bluff Vineyards was established in 1999 and is located in Lampasas, Texas. The winery opened its tasting room in 2002 and has since become a notable destination for wine enthusiasts.

By 2018, Pillar Bluff was producing between 1,200 to 1,400 cases of wine annually.

Nestled on the alluvial soils of Pillar Bluff Creek, the vineyard benefits from well-drained sandy loam and fractured dolomite limestone. These soil conditions provide exceptional drought tolerance and deep root growth for the vines.

The vineyard features eight French varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, and Malbec for red blends, as well as Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Viognier for whites.

Visitors to Pillar Bluff can enjoy tastings while wandering the vineyard or relaxing under the pavilion. The winery also hosts events such as music nights and seasonal celebrations to enhance the experience.
