Onabay Vineyards
Sustainable winegrowing amid historic farm’s scenic landscapes
Best known for: Sustainable winegrowing practices
Onabay Vineyards, located on the North Fork of Long Island, boasts a rich history spanning over 20 years. Nestled within a historic farm owned by the Anderson family, the vineyard encompasses more than 180 acres of diverse landscapes, including fertile fields, meadows, and wooded areas, alongside a mile of bay and creek frontage.
The region's temperate climate, influenced by surrounding waters, provides ideal conditions for viticulture. This allows for a long growing season that nurtures the grapes to full ripeness.
The vineyard is dedicated to cultivating high-quality Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Chardonnay grapes. It combines original plantings from the 1990s with modern high-density plantings.
Under the guidance of Brad Anderson and a talented team, Onabay Vineyards is committed to crafting exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the North Fork.
The vineyard's labels feature distinctive artwork by Francesca Anderson and poetry by Mia C. Anderson, further enriching the winery's story.
Onabay Vineyards is also certified sustainable by Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship and quality.
