Historic schoolhouse tasting room with mountain views
Best known for: Cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
Founded over 35 years ago, Baileyana Winery is a pioneer in Edna Valley winemaking. It is named after the Acacia Baileyana tree that thrives in California's Central Coast.
The winery is situated in the region's coolest growing area near the Pacific Ocean. It is celebrated for its elegant and vibrant wines that reflect the unique terroir of Edna Valley. Baileyana is particularly known for its cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which exemplify the area's exceptional qualities.
The winery's tasting room is located in the historic Independence Schoolhouse. It offers guests a unique experience with stunning views of the Santa Lucia Mountains.
Under the guidance of award-winning winemaker Rob Takigawa, Baileyana continues to honor the legacy of its founders, Jack and Catharine Niven. They first planted vineyards in a valley that was previously known for dairy farms.
