Nassau Valley Vineyards

Historic farm setting with art gallery and self-guided tours

Best known for: Delaware's first winery and award-winning wines

Founded in 1987, Nassau Valley Vineyards is the first and only award-winning winery in Delaware. Located in Lewes, the vineyard was established by Peg Raley and her father, Bob Raley, on a family farm site.

Peg's passion for wine led her to successfully lobby for legislation allowing farm wineries in Delaware, paving the way for Nassau Valley Vineyards' opening in 1993.

The vineyard produces a variety of wines, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, using both estate-grown and regionally sourced fruits.

Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours, tastings, and explore the art gallery, making it a cultural and wine destination.
