Montezuma Winery, founded by the Martin family, has its roots in a commercial beekeeping business. The journey began when Bill Martin experimented with home winemaking, leading to the creation of honey wines.

From humble beginnings in a garage, the winery has expanded to multiple locations in upstate New York, including Montezuma Winery in Seneca Falls, which opened in 2001. The winery is celebrated for its innovative approach to winemaking, utilizing local grape varieties and honey.

The Martin family has also ventured into distilling, establishing Hidden Marsh Distillery and Alder Creek Distillery, further enriching their offerings.
