Markko Vineyard
Historic estate with scenic vineyard views
Best known for: Ohio's oldest estate specializing in European Vinifera grapes
Markko Vineyard and Winery was founded in 1968 by Arnie Esterer and Tim Hubbard. It’s a pioneering spot in Ohio known for growing European Vinifera grapes.
The winery is located in the scenic area of Conneaut. Over the years, it has earned a reputation for producing high-quality wines, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and Pinot Noir.
The unique terroir plays a big role in the quality of their wines. Rich soil and a cool climate near Lake Erie create ideal conditions for grape growing.
Their approach and success are influenced by the guidance of Dr. Konstantin Frank, a well-known figure in viniculture.
Today, Markko Vineyard offers a welcoming environment for wine lovers. Visitors can explore the wines and enjoy the peaceful vineyard surroundings.
