Marchesi Vineyards
Historic orchard turned vineyard with mountain views
Best known for: Northern Italian grape varieties in Oregon
Marchesi Vineyards, located in Hood River, Oregon, is the realization of Franco Marchesi's lifelong dream of winemaking.
Franco's passion for wine began in his hometown of Borgosesia, Piemonte, Italy, where he was inspired by his grandfather, Achille. After moving to the United States in 1977 and spending nearly two decades in the wine industry, Franco found the perfect location in Oregon's Columbia Gorge region, which shares a similar climate and soil to Northern Italy.
In 2003, he began revitalizing an abandoned apple orchard to plant his favorite Northern Italian grape varieties, establishing Marchesi Vineyards & Winery.
Today, Franco feels at home in this stunning landscape defined by Mount Hood.
