Icaria Winery
Historic hillside vineyard with mountain views
Best known for: Award-winning wines from Sonoma County
Icaria Winery is located about 1.5 hours north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. It has been making award-winning wines since it was established in 1997.
The winery sits on a fifty-acre ranch, with 26 acres in the Asti Foothills at the northern end of Alexander Valley. They were among the first in Sonoma County to plant hillside Cabernet Sauvignon, with the vineyard about 400 feet above sea level.
At Icaria, they grow Cabernet Sauvignon (Clone 337), Merlot (Clone 3), and Malbec. They also have ten acres of Chardonnay planted in the deep alluvial floor of Alexander Valley. The area's climate features warm days and cool nights, which helps produce complex wines that go well with food.
Currently, Icaria Winery is sold out of all wines and is not accepting reservations for tastings.
