Hudson Street Wineries

Four small Sonoma County family wineries sharing a tasting room in Healdsburg’s historic Old Roma Station

Best known for: Small-production Sonoma County wines from four family producers

Hudson Street Wineries brings four small Sonoma County family wineries together in one tasting room in Healdsburg, California: Burnside Road, Owl Ridge, Shippey Vineyards, and Willowbrook Cellars. The setting is the original cellar of the French-American Winery at Old Roma Station, in a building dating to 1875 near the Russian River and Memorial Bridge. The draw is variety without another drive: four producers with different vineyard sources and grape interests, all behind one tasting bar.

Winemaker Joe Otos connects two of the labels. At Willowbrook Cellars, which dates to 2001, he makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, including an estate Pinot Noir from John and Deborah Tracy’s vineyard in the Russian River Valley American Viticultural Area. At Owl Ridge, his work centers on Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, using French oak. Shippey Vineyards produces fewer than 1,000 cases annually, with vineyard-specific wines such as Rocking Z Zinfandel and Flaming J Petite Sirah from Dry Creek Valley. Burnside Road adds wines sourced from Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, and other California growing regions.

Tastings are by appointment at 428 Hudson Street. The $7 tasting fee is waived with a wine purchase—a modest entry point for exploring several small producers rather than committing a stop to just one.
