Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery
Art-inspired tasting room in a historic setting
Best known for: Award-winning Chester County wines
Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery was founded in 2005 by Brad and Lele Galer. They started with a 7-acre vineyard on their home property in Pocopson. With expert viticulture consulting from Lucie Morton and vineyard management from Jan Grimes, they established the 'Home Vineyard'.
In 2007, they expanded by purchasing Folly Hill Winery in Kennett Square. Over the next four years, they undertook a reconstruction plan that included a state-of-the-art fermentation room, an art-inspired tasting room, and a French oak barrel room. The winery opened to the public in November 2011 and has since won over 150 medals and awards for its wines.
The Galers focus on producing the best quality wine possible, utilizing 70-90% grapes from their own vineyards and sourcing the remainder from local vineyards within a 30-mile radius. Brad Galer, a pharmaceutical executive and neurologist, is passionate about wine, while Lele Galer manages the winery and is actively involved in the arts community.
They credit their success to their dedicated staff and the supportive Chester County community.
