Four Gates Wine was established thirty-four years ago and is a small kosher winery located in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California.
The winery was originally founded to produce wine suitable for Shabbos and Yom Tov, but it has since become known for its high-quality, organically grown wines.
The vineyard covers 3.5 acres and grows varietals such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Franc. All of these grapes are certified organic by the California Certified Organic Farmers.
Four Gates operates as a one-man operation, which means each bottle reflects the vineyard’s unique qualities and the careful attention given to both growing the grapes and making the wine.
The wines are estate bottled, highlighting the personal touch and commitment to quality.
The winery is especially known for its full-bodied Chardonnay and its substantial Merlot, both of which pair well with a variety of dishes.
Beyond winemaking, Four Gates also engages in community and cultural practices, using their wines to sanctify the Sabbath with intention and purpose.
