Fernwood Cellars
Historic family estate with mountain-grown craftsmanship
Best known for: Estate-grown wines from Santa Cruz Mountains
Fernwood Cellars, located at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Gilroy, California, is a family-owned winery with a rich history spanning five generations.
Originally homesteaded in 1863, the land has transformed from a Victorian resort into a winery, with each generation contributing to its legacy.
The winery is among the 7% of wineries that grow all their own grapes, ensuring complete control over quality from vine to bottle.
Under the guidance of winemaker Matt Oetinger, Fernwood Cellars focuses on small-batch production, sustainable farming practices, and the use of high-quality oak barrels to create exceptional wines.
Visitors can experience the unique mountain-grown wines during weekend tastings.
Tasting Hours
Open the first and third weekend of the month from 12:00pm to 4:45pm, with the last pour at 4:30pm.
