Empty Nest Winery
Family-owned farm with small-batch, fruit-driven wines
Best known for: Handcrafted fruit wines and craft beers
Empty Nest Winery is located in rural northeast Iowa on a century-old family farm. It opened its doors in 2011.
Starting out with eight different wines, mainly berry and fruit wines, the winery has grown to offer over 50 varieties including ports, ciders, and sangrias.
It's a family-owned and operated place that focuses on producing handcrafted wines made in small batches from locally grown, handpicked berries. By fermenting whole real fruit instead of just the juice, they create unfiltered wines that are rich in flavor, color, and body. Their motto is "True to the Fruit."
The tasting room offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests can enjoy wine, sangria, craft beer, and hard cider. There are also free popcorn and various games to keep everyone entertained.
