DAOU Vineyards is located in the beautiful Paso Robles region of California. It’s best known for its dedication to making high-quality wines, especially its flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, called Soul of a Lion.
The winery was founded by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou. Their family's story is quite remarkable—they fled Lebanon during a time of war and eventually settled in France. There, their love of winemaking grew as they worked in the vineyards of Bordeaux.
Inspired by their experiences, they set out with the goal of creating wines that could stand up to those from some of the world's top regions. They turned DAOU Mountain into a leading wine estate, even though many initially doubted the potential of the Paso Robles area for serious winemaking.
Each vintage of Soul of a Lion is a reflection of their determination for quality and the resilient spirit that has carried them through their journey.
