Danish Countryside Vines & Wines is a winery located in Exira, Iowa, known for its diverse selection of wines and engaging vineyard tours.
The winery began its journey on Christmas Day in 2001 when Andy Petersen gifted his father a wine-making kit. This sparked a passion in Allan Petersen, who started producing wine in his basement.
By 2003, the first vines were planted, and over five years, 3.5 acres of grapes matured into a fruitful vineyard.
The winery's historic barn, built in 1913, was restored between 2003 and 2006. The winery officially opened its doors in May 2006, led by Allan and his wife, Carol.
In January 2016, ownership was transferred to Loren and Jennifer Christensen, who continue to uphold the winery's legacy. They manage the vineyard and produce 20 different types of wine.
The winery is committed to providing high-quality products and memorable experiences for its customers.
