Clos Saron
Agricultural heritage with volcanic soil and minimalist craftsmanship
Best known for: Unique Pinot Noir from Sierra Foothills
Clos Saron is a unique vineyard located in the Sierra Foothills of California, specializing in the production of Pinot Noir wines that express the distinctive character of their terroir.
Founded in 1995, the winery began with a half-acre of Cabernet Sauvignon that was eventually transformed into Pinot Noir vines, taking advantage of the region's cool microclimate.
The vineyard has since expanded to 2.5 acres, featuring 4,500 own-rooted Pinot Noir vines planted on a well-drained slope at an altitude of 1500-1600 feet.
The soil here is rich in volcanic rock and microorganisms, which helps give the wines their exceptional quality and aging potential.
Clos Saron is committed to chemical-free farming and a minimalist winemaking approach, making sure each bottle reflects its place of origin.
They also offer a selection of rare and sought-after wines through their wine clubs, working with distributors and importers to share their wines with a broader audience.
