Chaumette Vineyards & Winery

Scenic vineyard views with charming estate accommodations

Best known for: Award-winning wines and scenic vineyard views

Established in 1990 by Hank and Jackie Johnson, Chaumette Vineyards & Winery is located in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, an area rich in history as the first colonial settlement on the west side of the Mississippi River.

Initially intended as a family getaway, the property transformed into a winery as Hank Johnson's passion for wine and viticulture led him to cultivate grapes and produce wine.

Today, Chaumette spans 310 acres, with 30 acres dedicated to grapevines, benefiting from a unique climate that enhances grape quality.

The winery is known for its handcrafted wines, including varieties like Norton and Chardonel, and produces between three and five thousand cases annually.

Beyond wine production, Chaumette offers a full-service restaurant, private villas, and event spaces, making it a sought-after destination for visitors seeking a blend of relaxation and fine wine.

The Johnson family remains actively involved, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
