Casanel Vineyards
Historic buildings meet family-crafted winemaking
Best known for: Estate-grown wines in Loudoun County
Casanel Vineyards & Winery was established in 2006 by Casey and Nelson DeSouza. It’s a family-owned spot located in the beautiful Loudoun County, Virginia.
The winery was born from the couple's dream of creating a welcoming space that celebrates land ownership and family values. They dedicated themselves to quality, hand-planting over 10,000 vines and renovating historic buildings on their property. This blend of old-world charm and modern techniques gives the winery a unique character.
Their first estate harvest happened in 2010, and by 2015, they had fully realized their goal of producing estate wines that showcase Virginia’s unique terroir. Today, Casanel is known for its high-quality estate fruit and hand-crafted wines, which help put Virginia’s growing wine scene on the map.
