Borra Vineyards

Historic vineyards with sustainable practices

Best known for: Old vine Zinfandel and Barbera wines

Borra Vineyards is located in the heart of the Lodi Wine Appellation. It’s a family-owned winery that has been growing exceptional wines for generations.

The winery has two vineyards: the historic Carrù Vineyard, which has been in the family for over a century, and the larger Gill Creek Ranch, acquired in 1991.

The Carrù Vineyard was replanted in 1972 to grow Barbera, while Gill Creek Ranch features old vine Zinfandel and Chardonnay. It also has newer plantings of Merlot, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

Under the guidance of Stephen J. Borra, a third-generation grower, the winery uses a careful viticulture program that focuses on site selection, soil compatibility, and sustainable practices.

The wines are known for their vibrant fruit character and elegant profiles, and Borra Vineyards is considered a standout in the Lodi region.
