Blue Sky Vineyard is located at the eastern end of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail in Makanda, Illinois. It’s known for its award-winning wines and stunning views of the Shawnee National Forest.
The vineyard covers about 13 acres and has around 7,750 vines. It specializes in a variety of grapes, including Chambourcin, Norton, Vignoles, and vinifera types like Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay.
The winery is built in a classical Tuscan style, featuring stucco walls, hand-hewn beams, and beautifully carved doors. This creates a relaxed, yet elegant atmosphere.
Guests can enjoy hand-crafted wines that showcase the unique qualities of the region, along with light fare from the café menu.
Blue Sky Vineyard also offers charming suites for an unforgettable stay. It’s a great spot for weddings, private events, and special gatherings.
