Adastra Tasting Room
Sustainable practices in a historic, family-run estate
Best known for: Organic estate-grown wines from Napa Valley
Adastra Wines is located in Napa Valley, California, and is known for its focus on organic viticulture and sustainable practices.
It was founded in 1989 by Chris and Naomi Thorpe. The winery started out primarily involved with cattle but eventually transitioned to producing high-quality wines from certified organic grapes.
Adastra typically produces fewer than 1,500 cases each year. The winery makes wines from varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Merlot.
The winery has been dedicated to organic farming since 2005, a commitment that has been recognized by the California Certified Organic Farmers.
Although Adastra closed its tasting room in 2023, it continues to offer its wines mainly through its Wine Club and mailing list, maintaining a presence in the wine market.
