Unlike Napa’s western neighbor, Sonoma, Napa’s eastern neighbor, the Suisun Valley, has not yet established itself as one of California’s premier wine-growing areas. The valley’s northern portion is relatively warm, and the southern section is strongly influenced by the cool winds blowing inland from the Pacific Ocean and Suisun/San Pablo Bay. There are less than a half-dozen wineries in the region centered around the city of Fairfield.
